to the most prolific disease of our modern world! Weirdly, stress
not only affects those that feel they are underachieving, but
also embraces those who excel in what they do - none of us are
exempt.
Though
we do need doses of stress to get things done, it is prolonged
stress that is our real enemy. Prolonged stress starves our immune
system, slows digestion and decreases appetite, it speeds up heart
rates, increases blood pressure and cholesterol. It makes us gain
weight, lose weight, sleep less, sleep more, either way it exhausts
us!
Prolonged stress is the root cause of many mental and physical
illnesses such as:

- Anxiety
- Heart
Problems
- Digestive
Problems
- Infections
- Social
Problems
and much more - and it creeps up on us like a dagger in the dark!
The
cure is simple (in theory) Learn to relax........that's it.....that's
all, just take some time out and learn.. how.. to.. truly.. relax!!
You
see there are certain things in your life that you cannot instantly
change. Prolonged stress is usually caused by an inability
to easily cope with your present circumstances.
Whether
they be constant overwork, unyielding high pressure and expectation
(from yourself or others) an inability to 'fit in' or adapt to
new situations and responsibilities. You may feel challenged by
your lack of money, suitable work, desired social status.
The
list can go on and on but one fact remains loud and clear, stress
will have you either climbing the walls to get away (if only in
your mind) or shouting down unsuspecting victims with your anger
and frustrations - stress creates the primal response of fight
or flight!
If
we don't find a release from the stress we may begin to withdraw
from life. Our coping mechanism
begins to break down, our body begins to manifest illnesses and
complications and that's where the real danger lies! That's
when stress begins to take over and we become a victim of our
own mind!

In
these hectic days everyone agrees that we need to learn to relax
more, that it's beneficial to our performance, relationships,
mental and physical health and so on.
Leisure
has become big business as people search for more quick &

and multi tasking that the modern world demands of us.
Many
of us have neither the time nor the money to afford a two week
vacation - to do the job properly whenever the tension builds
and we begin to coil like a spring.

focus our minds away from the humdrum, chaos and monotony of everyday
life.
But

also teaching their minds to switch off from the conventional

It shows us that we are already equally valuable to our
fellow man and that, within us, we already possess perfection
and complete worth.
